You Don’t Have to Go Back to Who You Were Before

Can I encourage you for a moment?

When God begins to do something in your life, it doesn’t come to an end just because the moment passes. It’s not meant to fade once you return to your routine.

It was real. And it’s still unfolding.

But here’s what often happens: as you step back into everyday life, there’s a quiet pull to return to what’s familiar: old thought patterns, old expectations, old ways of showing up.

And if you’re not careful, you can talk yourself right out of the very transformation God began.

Scripture reminds us, “He who has begun a good work in you will complete it” (Philippians 1:6). What God started in you is not temporary, it’s intentional. That’s why this awakening matters.

For some, it’s a deeper revelation of God’s love; learning that you don’t have to strive, perform, or prove anything to be accepted by Him.

For others, it’s the courage to establish boundaries; releasing what drains you; saying no without guilt, and protecting the peace God is cultivating within you.

And this is how your life begins to change—not just in powerful moments, but in daily decisions. Romans 12:2 calls us to be transformed by the renewing of our minds, and that transformation happens as we choose differently on a daily basis.

What you allow.
What you release.
What you believe about yourself.

So don’t go back to who you were before. Stay with what God is doing in you. Honor it. Protect it. Grow in it.

You are not the same woman. And this is just the beginning!

“I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns. (Philippians 1:6)
