Safety in Dangerous Times

2020 was a little rough on all of us, so let me start by asking, “How are YOU doing?” Do you feel safe with all of what’s going on? COVID-19, racial injustices, and shrinking employment have brought about safety concerns in our health, our communities, and in the workplace. The truth is that danger was in our midst before any of these events; however, as Christian women, we know without a shadow of a doubt that we can find safety in the Lord. The Bible tells us in Proverbs 18:10 that He is a strong fortress; the godly run to him and are safe. Ladies, this means that although danger may be surrounding us, we can run to Him and be safe with the promises of the covenant that He has freely given us. His covenant promises welfare, living well, protection, long life, health, wholeness, restoration, recovery—all the things that He established and provided for us from the foundation of the world.

Let us be encouraged that God is well-equipped to secure our lives and He intends for us as friends, daughters, sisters, wives, and mothers to experience His protection every day of our lives. Psalms 68:19 reminds us that our Father daily loads us with benefits; protection and deliverance are part of that benefits package. We can just ask Daniel about those benefits when he was in the lion’s den; or we could ask Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego if God was a protector and deliverer. As a matter of fact, we could ask Joseph about those benefits when he was thrown into the fiery pit, or even the Apostle Paul when a viper bit his hand. I’m telling you (one more time for the people in the back) that God is a deliverer who specializes in protecting ME and YOU!

We have redemption through and by the precious blood of Jesus. We are redeemed from the hand of the enemy. We are redeemed from destruction, early dying, death, and danger. I am challenging you to start making these declarations over yourself to take full advantage of God’s “benefits package”:

I have long life; I live long and live strong.

I am the healthy; I am the blessed; I am the whole.

Everything in my body functions in the way that God created it to function.

My immune system is strong.

Because Jesus was raised from the dead, I appropriate this same resurrection power, this life-

giving force on the inside of me.

God has redeemed my life from going down to the pit of destruction, and my life shall see the

light!

It’s not always easy to walk by faith because you have to resist the noise and chatter of the enemy, but press and lean in even more, Sis! Remember that even during these perilous times, you are healed; you are whole; you are strong; and you are safe in His arms! #FACTS
