Celebrate Redemption

Do you know that God loved you so much that He actually sent His own Son to die in your place on a cross? That’s no small thing. Some of us can accept that God loved us enough to sacrifice His son, but still doubt whether His intentions for us are good. We seem to question whether He really has plans for our life, plans to prosper us and not to harm us, plans to give us hope and a future.

We accept the fact that we were in a state of having fallen short from God. We accept that Jesus came to save us, so that we could be born again, walking in the light of the gospel, no longer bound in the space of sin.

But do we realize that the power of darkness has been removed? Do we comprehend that we are fully redeemed?

Redemption means to buy back, to repurchase. Jesus paid the price in full. He bought us back from the enemy. We are no longer continuously defeated under guilt, shame and condemnation. His precious blood has freed us. His precious blood has released us from blame and the debt of sin.

We are redeemed from the wrath of God (Romans 5:9). God is not upset with you! You are forgiven. You have been brought back into right standing with your Creator! You can have fellowship with the Holy Spirit! Praise God!

You are a child of the Most High King and there are a whole bunch of privileges that come with the territory.

He has plans for your life. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). You’ve been redeemed from spiritual death into spiritual life. That means that you’re redeemed from sickness and disease. These were part of the curse! Health can be ours in Christ Jesus!

We need to know this so that we stop tolerating anything less. As His child we need not live in fear. We need not live in bondage. We need not live under the law. We need not live in terror, believing He is mad with us. He’s not! He is our Father and that makes us privy to a whole lot.

As a redeemed child of God, you have access to the Holy Spirit. You can be lead from the inside out. You will begin to live a life of sweatlessness, a life of prosperity. God is a goodwill God. He wants to prosper you and to give you everything that pertains to life and godliness.

We need to begin to renew our minds to think in line with the will of God (Romans 12:2). We need to understand that He wants to bless us to be a blessing. We need to trust God our Father to supply our every need and we need to begin to walk out our redeemed lives in step with the Holy Spirit.
