God Reality

I know there’s a lot of uncertainty in the world—the economy, the pandemic, and civil injustices happening everywhere. These events can lead us to seeing things the way the “world” sees them, but not necessarily as God sees them. As Christian women, we have to learn not to allow these things to influence us in worldly ways, but remain focused on Him. The truth of the matter is that God’s reality should be THE reality of our lives, but we have to make a choice. We have to choose to be transferred out of darkness to become kingdom citizens. Just because the world is in fear over current events doesn’t mean that we have to absorb and embrace fear in our lives. In the Message Bible, Luke says, “Steep yourself in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met. Don’t be afraid of missing out.” In other words, we are part of a heavenly system—we are part of God’s kingdom.

Regardless of where we are and all the things that we may have attained—the money, the jobs, the careers, the assignments, the blessings—we have to make sure that we don’t forget God, who made all of these things possible for us. That’s what happened with the children of Israel: they forgot about what God did for them and started to complain. They forgot all about how God delivered them from bondage and lack.

Sometimes we need to have a good old flashback. We need to go back in time to recall all the mighty acts that God did just for us, and recognize that if He did it once, He can do it again. We might need to recall the time we were spared in a car accident or healed from a significant health concern. God is committed and faithful to those who are in covenant with Him—to deliver, to provide, to preserve, and to do all the things necessary for His reality become our reality as kingdom citizens. When you received Jesus into your life, you became a part of His world, and guess what? He made a quality decision to make sure He takes excellent care of those who are in covenant with Him. That includes YOU!

The world and all the evil that happens in it may be subject to the power of darkness, but we are delivered from the dominion of darkness. Therefore, we can not only take authority over darkness, but we can take authority over fear, sickness, poverty, debt, addictions, habits, bondages, the list goes on and on. I don’t know about you, but this excites me! We can ALL be free in God’s reality when we make the choice to become kingdom citizens, because “wherever the Lord’s Spirit is, there is freedom.” So, let’s CHOOSE God’s reality over the world’s reality.
